Shopify Fall '26 Edition puts AI agents to work in your store
Shopify's Fall '26 Edition, out on 28 October, lets you run your store from AI assistants and lets shoppers pay with Shop Pay inside more AI agents.
- More of your Black Friday sales may start in an AI chat instead of on your store, so agents need correct product details, prices, stock and policies to send buyers to you.
- Your store is open to AI agents by default, with nothing to switch on. Agents repeat what your store and Knowledge base say, so mistakes there reach shoppers.
- You can check orders, stock and sales from Gemini, Copilot or ChatGPT, but changes made from there are real changes to your live store.
- Some features, such as the new fraud rules and Amex in agent checkout, are not ready yet, so do not plan your Black Friday around them.
